Paula Marabot

The Word as a Scalpel

Paula Marabot, escritora española de narrativa contemporánea.

I do not write to provide answers, but to discomfort with the right questions. My contemporary narrative ventures into the territories we prefer to ignore: the weight of silence following a loss, the search for identity in a world that insists on labeling us, and the fragility of those walking the fine line of exclusion. I understand writing as a relentless exercise to dissect reality, stripping it of all artifice until reaching its core.

Above all, I am interested in exploring how human beings react when they leave their comfort zone; it is in that exact moment of vulnerability where who we truly are is revealed. Therefore, in my texts you will find an objective, raw gaze upon the human condition. There are no concessions to gratuitous sentimentalism; only the echo of painful realities, transformed into stories that explore the resilience of women, the drama of invisibility, and the true cost of survival.

If you are looking for a read that leaves you unscathed, I am probably not your author. If you dare to look at the truth hidden beneath the surface of the everyday, I invite you in.

Stories in Airplane Mode

12 Tales to Disconnect from the World (Spanish)

We live trapped in a whirlwind of screens, rush, and notifications demanding our attention every single second. The only moment of real respite we grant ourselves occurs when a voice tells us it’s time to switch to airplane mode. That instant suspended in time is the setting where these stories live.

Twelve capsules of life designed to bite, to caress, and, above all, to leave a lasting mark. The ideal companion for a wait, a trip, or those final peaceful minutes before turning off the nightstand lamp.
